Tashkent Fashion Week: Eternal traditions

The capital hosted the fashion holiday - Tashkent Fashion Week 2016. This event is taking place in our capital for the second time and brigs together fashion specialists not only from our country but foreign experts.

A lot of Uzbek designers showed their collections as well as designers frщm China, Italy and other countries presented their fashion outlook.

Today, I again introduce you with our Uzbek culture. TFW started exactly from traditional costumes show. I would say that traditions are eternal. The costumes of different regions of Uzbekistan vary but all of them are magnetic and full of bright colours.

The show started from national dance performance
The models wearing costumes from the most popular regions Samarkand and Bukhara hit the shows the first

Although nowadays Uzbek women don't wear such a traditional attire but the elements are still used by them during some festivities like weddings and other traditional holidays.

Bukhara and Samarkand Ikat is my favourite one. Read more  about amazing Bukhara in my post

The next regions are Surkhandarya and Kashkadarya
These costumes are mostly tribal styled and look like those which wore
 NOMADS

This headscarf looks like russian one

Then the models wearing Karakalpak clothing hit the runway

Khorezm, the region which Alexander the Great could not conquer

How beautiful is Uzbek materials Atlas, Adras

And now I would inspire  you with some samples of IKAT and other traditional materials presented during TFW

Bakhmal is very popular nowadays but this material is very expensive. It has national pattern the the texture is like velvet

This material is made with natural colours made of woods and pattern is printed by handmade stamps

Famous adras (Ikat)

We always thought how it is made? - That's the answer

LOVE,
Anastasia
